ACT acquires Glorychem and expands into industrial and fine chemicals

02.07.2024

On July 1st 2024, ACT Global GmbH, the holding company of the ACT Group, acquired the business operations of Glorychem GmbH & Co. KG (henceforth: Glorychem GmbH), a specialist in the field of industrial and fine chemicals. This strategically important step enables ACT to expand into another promising industry that is characterised by great growth opportunities and high innovative strength.

Glorychem: An industry expert with many years of experience

Glorychem, founded in 1999 in Barth (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), has established itself as a specialist for industrial and fine chemical products. With sites in Germany and China, the company offers comprehensive service and advice on the use of its products in the chemical and processing industries. Glorychem is characterised by its excellent expertise and strong logistical capabilities. The company has been active in the import of industrial chemicals from China, South Africa and Russia for more than 24 years and manages all processes from purchasing and sales to fast and punctual delivery. With warehouses in Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg and Langelsheim, Glorychem can serve its European customers reliably and promptly.

An important step for ACT

The acquisition of Glorychem is of great importance for ACT as it enables the company to enter a new sector and thus to be more broadly positioned. To date, ACT has specialised in the food, animal feed, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors. By integrating Glorychem, ACT can now also serve the industrial and fine chemicals sectors. This not only increases the diversification of the portfolio, but also the company's resilience to market fluctuations.
