For greater enjoyment and wellbeing

Your reliable trading partner and supplier of quality flavour raw materials

Flavours and fragrances are concentrated solutions and flavour-enhancing mixtures of ingredients for the processing industry. They improve the taste and smell of products by concealing or enhancing their own flavour.

As a raw material trader, ACT supplies flavours and fragrances in consistent and certified quality for your product in the food, non-essential items, pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors. Our flavours enrich both sweet and baked goods as well as tobacco products and spirits and sauna infusions and creams.

How do flavours and fragrances work?

Flavours and fragrances appeal mainly to consumers’ sense of smell. In interaction with taste, the pleasure factor increases and this is also often associated with a willingness to buy a product. Depending on how it is used, it smells better, for example, tastes more interesting or improves the overall enjoyment attributes. The result is often a significantly enhanced feel-good atmosphere.

Where and in which industries are flavours and fragrances used?

Flavourings are found in almost all areas of everyday life, as humans often find flavoured products and added fragrances appealing. For this reason, the processing industry is happy to use them to increase their product quality.

With baked goods, vanillin ensures a vanilla flavour, for example. In liquorice products, anethol provides the typical liquorice flavour. Non-essential items such as menthol cigarettes are produced with natural menthol, so that the fresh menthol smell and its flavour are associated with smoking. Menthol smell or flavour is also used to improve toothpaste and mouthwash and make using them more pleasant. In the cosmetics industry, aromas optimise the smell of bathrooms and sauna infusions and fragrances improve creams and other cosmetics to make using them as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.
