A natural sweetener and flavouring with no aftertaste
Supplier of Natural Sweet Monk Fruit (Luo Han Guo)
The Monk Fruit is about 300 times sweeter than sugar but still contains hardly any calories. Mogrosides (I-V) are responsible for its sweetness which, unlike many synthetic and natural sweeteners, have no unpleasant aftertaste. In Europe, approval of Luo Han Guo on the basis of its status as a Novel Food* is still being assessed. Approval is expected by 2024.
Luo Han Guo or Monk Fruit is used in the processing industry in dairy products, table-top products, confectionery, drinks and sports nutrition. It also works well with other natural sweeteners in mixtures e.g. Stevia extracts, Erythritol and Allulose.
In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Monk Fruit is often used for, among other things, breathing difficulties, diabetes and gastrointestinal problems and is often drunk as a tea to combat colds. Its nickname is due to the Buddhist Luohan monks, who already knew of the healing powers of this plant in the 13th century. Nowadays this fruit, which is reminiscent of a kiwi but is a kind of cucurbit, is known throughout almost the whole world.
ACT is your specialist partner in the sourcing and distribution of natural and synthetic high-quality sweeteners for the processing and production of end products in the foodstuffs industry. We can offer Monk Fruit in various mogroside concentrations or in mixtures. ACT stands for reliability and ensures inspection of the entire production and supply chain thanks to its own employees on site and our professional Quality Management.
