For more balanced nutrition

As a distributor and supplier, ACT provides vitamins, amino acids, sweeteners, acidity regulators and preservatives for pet food

For better results and more consumer-friendly pet food and animal feed products, the processing industry often resorts to feed additives.

ACT supplies animal feed and pet food additives in always certified quality in accordance with Fami QS directives. They are used in products such as aquafeed, dry food for dogs and cats or feed mixtures for swine and cattle. But even fresh feed contains our additives.

What is the purpose of additives in animal feed?

For balanced nutrition, animals need a healthy mix of protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, fibre, and trace elements – just as humans do. In addition to the nutritional aspect, however, our focus is especially on a good and healthy end product. This is why additives are often included for stable gastric and intestinal flora and better digestibility, and they have a positive effect on the feed’s properties. They also ensure longer shelf life for the end product, control its acidity, contribute to improving the animal’s health and appetite for feed and in the case of meat products, they ensure better, leaner meat with less fat.

What types of additives are included in animal feed?

In animal feed production, vitamins and amino acids play a decisive role in the choice of appropriate additives. But antioxidants, flavours, emulsifiers, micronutrients and enzymes are also important ingredients in animal feed production. As is often the case with food, preservatives and acids as well as sugar substitutes are absolutely vital ingredients in animal feed. The ingredients that are specifically allowed and may be processed are regulated by the Feed Additives Ordinance and the Fami QS directives of the European Union.
