For preventative and protective action

As a distributor and supplier, ACT supplies flavours and essences, energy-enhancing ingredients, acid regulators and preservatives for cosmetics

For better quality and more consumer-friendly cosmetic products, the processing industry often resorts to the appropriate additives.

ACT supplies additives for cosmetics in consistent and certified quality in accordance with DIN-EN-ISO-9001:2015 guidelines for products from skin care and hair care to essential oils, fragrances for perfumes and body lotion to toothpaste, mouthwash and sunscreen.

What is the purpose of additives for cosmetics?

Cosmetic products consist of all kinds of ingredients. With our additives, we ensure their regulatory, preventative or protective effects. This is why toothpaste, mouthwash or oral sprays are found in every household. The moisturising and regulatory action of body and facial creams is generally well known, as is the accentuating effect of make-up.

What types of additives are used in cosmetics?

In cosmetics production, both vitamins and essential oils as well as acid regulators and preservatives are used. When a customer purchases a product subsequently, its aromas and essences play a decisive role. Sweeteners and sugar substitutes such as saccharine are used in the oral care sector due to their effects on flavour. Energy ingredients are selected for their skin care properties for cosmetics. Which substances are permitted and may be processed are regulated by international agreements and EU law (REACH). The latter also regulates the European states’ labelling obligations.
